Rick Martinez is an Explosive Detection Specialist and Certified K-9 Handler. He works under contract with the United States Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Martinez specializes in vehicle, package, personnel and perimeter searches, as well as magnetometer x-ray screening at corporate facilities, ports of entry and loading docks.
Prior to working with the Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Martinez worked for the New York City Police Department’s Elite Emergency Services Unit/Special Operations Division. Mr. Martinez was responsible for responding to major emergencies such as: Hostage Situations, Armed Barricaded Perpetrators, Chemical and Biological Counter-Terrorism, Dignitary Protection, Terrorism Search and Rescue and much more. Mr. Martinez has a proven record of distinguished performance and accomplishments in Law Enforcement. Mr. Martinez received the second highest award in the NYPD, the Distinguished Combat Cross Medal, which was presented to him by the Mayor and Police Commissioner of the City of New York.
Mr. Martinez is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Mercy College, New York.
