Mr. Silas has over (28) years of trial experience. He has a full service general practice with significant experience. Early in his career Mr. Silas was an assistant district attorney in the Brooklyn DA office. During his career he has successfully defended a diverse clientele of individuals in a variety of criminal and civil cases.
Currently his practice specializes in Business, Medical Malpractice, TITLE VII cases, and Real Estate transactions. Many of his cases have resulted in 7 figure recoveries for his clients and received extensive media coverage (Dateline NBC, ABC, NY Post, Daily News, etc.). He handles cases in both State and Federal courts, including Civil, Commercial and Criminal matters.
In addition to his own private practice he served as Outside Counsel for the New York City Transit Authority, TBTA, and the MTA, representing these Authorities in personal injury litigation.
His military background began in 1963; he was stationed in the 1st. Cavalry Division, 101 Airborne Division, RVN, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1967.
Mr. Silas is a graduate of Marist College and earned his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School (SUNY). He received numerous honors during his academic career.
